Max was the best tour guide we’ve ever had bar none — which is not an easy feat given the numerous tours we’ve taken. First and foremost, he was accommodating and punctual. He met us at the front of our hotel and gave us a captivating rundown on the inception of Central Park while we waited for the rain to abate (no time wasted). From our hotel and on the way to the park, he gave us several personal suggestions on cafés, restaurants, and shops that we should visit. We even popped in to the Plaza Food Hall and he got us donut bites to sample from the Doughnuttery. The tour of Central Park (3 hrs) was amazing and entertaining. He showed us so many little details that we would have missed had we done it on our own or had we done it in a big group. Some of our prior tour guides have managed to make the ordeal about themselves and talk nonstop, leaving you feeling ignored and irritated that it isn’t really your experience (but rather theirs that you’re being submitted to). Max strikes the perfect balance in being receptive and rolling with the flow. It doesn’t seem scripted or forced. He truly is a shrewd master. He read us and adapted accordingly throughout. Simply wouldn’t have been the same without him. We truly wished we had booked him to visit other sites during our stay in New York. That being said, there is no doubt that we will book him for our next visit! Thanks, Max!
